Karen Schofield Karen Schofield RPSGT Senior Respiratory Physiology Technologist

Karen joined the NHS team in 2003 after working as a regional manager for a stationary company. She is a Senior Sleep Physiology Technician and Team Manager of the 16 technicians in the department. Karen is a Registered Polysomnographic Technician (RPSGT). Her examination results were stunning, achieving 86% overall (428/500 marks), and being rated as "above expected competency" in all four parts of a very difficult four hour paper. She has huge experience in the monitoring of patients with sleep disordered breathing and full polysomnography for other complex sleep disorders, as well as the treatment of patients with CPAP for obstructive sleep apnoea, and Non Invasive Ventilation (NIV) for hypoventilation syndrome. In 2013 she passed the examination as part of the Edinburgh Sleep Medicine Course.


Karen also administers the Practice.


Outside work, Karen enjoys keeping fit, and lives with her husband who is an IT consultant, and their two daughters south of the Ashdown Forest.
